Sajimon Joseph

Sajimon Joseph is a clinical social worker employed at Mackenzie Health Hospital and Scarborough Health Network. He obtained his Masters’ Degree in Social work from University of Toronto. His area of practice includes individual and family counselling, resource counselling, crisis intervention, case management, advocacy and discharge planning

Prior to joining the Mackenzie Health Hospital, Sajimon worked at the Michael Garron Hospital (formerly known as the Toronto East General Hospital) and Scarborough General Hospital as a social worker. At the Michael Garron, he was hired to set up its newly started rehab program for patients with Hip and Knee replacement.

In the early years of his career in Canada, he worked with the Griffin Centre as a therapist and provided individual, family and group counselling to children and their families with dual diagnosis. During this time, he was the core social worker for the Griffin Residential program and provided consultation and teaching to Child and Youth workers.

Sajimon holds a Master’s Degree in Personnel Management from Indore University, India and worked as a personnel officer at St. Stephen’s Hospital in New Delhi for many years prior to moving to Canada.

Sajimon has held various leadership positions since he came to Canada. He was instrumental in forming MASWO in its early days with Thomas and other social workers. Over the years, he has taken lead role in organising various programs and charity events for MASWO. Sajimon has also served as the secretary and treasurer of St. Thomas Syro- Malabar Catholic Church for 6 yrs. Sajimon is an active volunteer and a member of several community organizations in GTA.

Sajimon lives at Kleinburg with his family; wife and two children. His daughter is also a social worker and is employed by the Children’s Aid Society of the York Region and his son is a Master’s student at Western University.
