Prasad Nair has over 20 years of combined experience in the areas of Child Welfare, Counselling, Leadership and Labour Welfare in both for-profit and non-profit sectors. He is currently working as the director of North Branch with the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. He started his career in child welfare, as a family service worker with Peel Children’s is Aid and served in various capacities such as Manager of Programs and Processes, CPIN Service Lead, Service Program Supervisor, Intake Supervisor and Emergency After-Hours Supervisor. Prasad Nair has a Masters of Social Work and Bachelor of Law Degree from India, and a Masters of Social Work from York University. He also possesses Leadership certifications with Schulich School of Business (York), Smith School of Business (Queens), & Prosci certified in Change Management.
Prasad has significant Equity experiences and is passionate about leading equity-based engagements for better outcomes for communities. He is an active volunteer in the community. In the past, he served as a Board Member of OASW Central, and worked as part of the project team during the inception of Ryerson University’s Internationally Educated Social Workers Program. As a graduate in Collaborative Leadership in Community from Peel Leadership Academy, he currently serves as a Voluntary Board Member and President of a community based not for profit organization in GTA (Mississauga Kerala Association). He lives in Mississauga with his partner, Bindu Elizabeth, who is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and their two children Abhijeet and Abhinav.
