Joji completed his MSW from Calicut University, India. He has over 12 years of experience in Social Work. Before coming to Canada in 2012, he worked as a Welfare officer/Probation Officer with the Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of Delhi for a few years and his work was primarily with youth in conflict with law. He completed Internationally Educated Social Workers (IESW) bridging programme from Ryerson University, Toronto in 2014 and subsequently started his career in child welfare with Ottawa Children’s Aid Society as an Intake worker. Presently, he works for the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto as a Child Protection Worker. He is one of the lead facilitators for the Caring Dads Programme at Toronto CAS.
As an immigrant Social worker, Joji knows how important it is to make a positive impacts in the lives of the children, families and communities he serves through anti oppressive engagements. Joji has demonstrated strong leadership skills throughout his career and has been in the forefront to bring all Malayali Social workers in Ontario under MASWO since 2014. Joji’s consistent efforts and leadership has significantly contributed to MASWO’s recent progress.
Joji is a strong advocate of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and he is deeply committed to building partnerships between MASWO members and the larger community. He strongly believes that MASWO can act as a powerful agent of change for the members and the larger community through meaningful connections and right supports. Joji lives in Ajax with his wife Reshma and two children. Reshma obtained a BTech degree and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from India. She works as Business Analyst with an IT company.
